The Zard exhaust system range for the new BMW R 1300 GS aims to improve the performance of the motorcycle, focusing on the design of the terminal that enhances the sleek lines of the motorcycle.
The result of collaboration between the R&D department and Centro Stile Zard, the line consists of slip-ons in Euro 5 homologated and racing versions in titanium, equipped with carbon fiber end caps and heat shields. The silencer is lightweight ( -0.8 kg for the Euro 5 homologated version and -0.9 kg for the racing version compared to the standard silencer) and contributes to increasing the engine's performance ( +1.8 hp for the homologated version and +2.5 hp for the racing version compared to the standard silencer), endowing the exhaust with a distinctive Zard sound.
As a result of the combined development of the complete exhaust system, slip-on + decat, there is a further increase in performance, +5.7 hp for the homologated version and +6.4 hp for the racing version compared to the standard combination.
